Spokane Homecoming concludes with Violinist Jason Moody
SPOKANE The Spokane Symphony will be performing its final Spokane Homecoming at the Met series
on Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. and Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m.
The Spokane Symphony concludes this series with an exciting program chosen by Associate Conductor Morihiko Nakahara and featuring violinist Jason Moody.
Moody, Idaho native, is currently pursing his Master of Music at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. He has performed with numerous symphonies including Helena Symphony, Idaho State Symphony, North Idaho Symphony, Thalia Symphony and the Spokane Symphony. In 2001, he was featured on the Spokane String Quartet concert series.
Moody began his musical career at the age five. His subsequent teachers have include the Spokane Symphony Concertmaster Kelly Farris, Kim Zabelle and Ronald Patterson. In 2004, Moody graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Seattle Pacific University. He is a young, musical talent that has appeared on National Public Radio and KSPS.
He has received first-place awards in the Spokane Arts Festival Young Artists competition, Spokane Youth Symphony Concerto Competition and the Idaho Stat Solo and Ensemble competition. In 2002, he was the featured soloist for the Idaho Commission on the Arts Governor's Awards Ceremony. Moody has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and From the Top on National Public Radio.
Moody will be performing Mozart's famous Concerto No. 5 in A major for Violin and Orchestra. The orchestra will also play a Suite from Pulcinella by Igor Stravinsky, and Franz Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 94 in G major, Surprise.
