Patriotic Salute to 100th Anniversary of Father’s Day    4 p.m.

Ice Cream Tasting for the Family 2-4 p.m.

  1. Best of Classics features selections from the Top 40 of Classical music selected by listeners – Beethoven Symphony 5, Tchaikovsky Symphony 4, Prokofiev Symphony 1, Mozart Eine Kliene Nachtmusik and Dvorak New World Symphony. Spokane Symphony conducted by Eckart Preu

     

  2. Best of Music from Stage and Screen features music from West Side Story, Superman, Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music, Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.  Spokane Symphony conducted by Morihiko Nakahara

     

  3. The Patriotic Salute to Father’s Day music includes John Williams’ Summon the Heroes and Raider’s March, American Salute, Armed Forces Salute, Colonel Bogey March, Thunder and Lightening Polka, Sing-Along America! And more. This special concert will be conducted by both Eckart Preu and Morihiko Nakahara.

     

  4. Best Fest is part of Spokane’s Father’s Day Centennial Celebration 2010.

     

  5. Seven Spokane wineries will be participating in the June 18 wine tasting: Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, Caterina Winery, Latah Creek Wine Cellars, Nodland Cellars, Robert Karl Cellars, Townshend Cellar, Whitestone Vineyard and Winery.

     

  6. Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company and Steam Plant Grill will be providing five beers to taste on June 19, including Maestro Brew back by popular demand and the newly released Papa’s Pale Ale.

     

  7. Brain Freeze Ice Cream will provide eight delicious flavors on June 20, including ‘Symphony Rush’ (espresso ice cream with dark chocolate music notes) and ‘Fox in the Limelight’ (lime sorbet with fresh mint).

     

  8. All concerts are at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.  Pre and post concert tastings will be set outdoors in festive tents complete with lighting, beautiful trees and plants from Star Prunners Nursery.  

     

  9. Concert tickets are $35, $30 and $22. Wine and Beer Tasting is $15 and Ice Cream Tasting is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Special family packages available for the Father’s Day Concert.

     

  10. Best Fest is presented by the Spokane Symphony and Fox Theater Spokane.  Sponsors are Rockwood Clinic, DeaconessMedicalCenter and the Musicians of the Spokane Symphony. Partners are Spokane Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, Caterina Winery, Latah Creek Wine Cellars, Nodland Cellars, Robert Karl Cellars, Townshend Cellar, Whitestone Vineyard and Winery, Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company, Steam Plant Grill and Brain Freeze Ice Cream.
