SPOKANE SYMPHONY OPENS SUPERPOPS SEASON WITH TONY AWARD-WINNING ACTRESS, COMEDIENNE, AND SINGER BERNADETTE PETERS

SPOKANE: Spokane Symphony will feature the dazzling performance of Bernadette Peters in Concert on Saturday Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. at the INB Performing Arts Center. The concert will kick off the start of the Symphony's popular Headliner Pops season under the direction of Music Director Eckart Preu.

Acclaimed by audiences and critics, Peters has won the hearts of many with her performances on stage, television, in concert and in the recording industry. In 2003, she received her seventh Tony Award nomination for her portrayal of Momma Rose in Sam Mendes' record-breaking Broadway revival of Gypsy. Standing as one of Broadway's finest stars, Peters' career doesn't stop after the curtain call. She has an impressive list of television credits such as performances on PBS's Evening at Pops and The Kennedy Center Honors. She is also a Golden Globe Award winner for her memorable performance in Pennies from Heaven.

Along with an outstanding array of acting and performing, Peters has recorded solo albums: Sondheim, Etc., Etc.: Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It); Bernadette Peters Loves Rodgers and Hammerstein (Grammy Nomination); the live recording Sondheim Etc.: Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (Grammy Nomination); I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (Grammy Nomination); Bernadette Peters; and Now Playing. Peters has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is the youngest person to be inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.

Peters will be performing her popular hits as well as showcasing her Broadway standards.
