Spokane Symphony Endowment
Since 1945, stakeholders in the Symphony have supported the Symphony through their Annual Fund donations. With an eye toward long-term growth and stability, the Spokane Symphony Endowment was established in 1981. Earnings from Endowment provide the foundation of a long-term relationship between the Symphony and its community. Endowment distributions provide a cushion against short-term economic volatility and have helped the organization grow to the professional organization it is today. Investment in top-quality professional musicians requires continuity. Crucial programs such as free parks concerts, music education events in schools, visiting guest artists, and outreach to new listeners cannot be sustained without a growing Endowment. Future success is built upon plans and commitments created now.
By giving to the Spokane Symphony Endowment, you help sustain the present and the future. The Symphony Endowment is carefully managed by an independent Endowment Board of Directors. Its purpose is to perpetuate the truly priceless legacy we have in the Spokane Symphony. In accordance with the Endowment Board's strict policy, the Spokane Symphony receives a small annual payout each season to help pay salaries for musicians and guest artists, subsidize ticket prices, and cover concert expenses and education activities. To support the Symphony's future, the corpus of the Endowment remains invested and is left to grow.
